Experience of Music

If you're reading this, you're probably a musician.

If you're a musician, you've probably had music in your life for a while.

But in all of that time, have you realized what it is?

This next part is a bit abstract...

I spent years studying it and still didn't truly know. Learning music theory, practicing violin and piano for 2 hours a day, and immersing myself in music culture still weren't enough to ignite the realization.

Because music is a deeply personal experience. It's a journey unique to every person. All the education in the world is only a companion for your development, a catalyst for your relationship with yourself.

Music is an expression of our emotional and intellectual reality. It's a direct translation of the unspoken and a decoration of time. Thoughts and feelings manifest in a melody and conclude in its cadence.

But in less abstract words...

Music helps us share the world we have inside ourselves. A song can inspire the entire spectrum of emotion, including excitement, sadness, passion, fear, and much more. Even without words we know this to be true. We feel it, and it's real.

So as a musician, your craft depends on your ability to influence this energy. That skill grows while you grow closer to yourself.

In absolute terms, only you can experience that process, so a good portion of your journey will require mindfulness and alone time used purposefully.

In relative terms, you're never alone, especially since you've received this email! We are here to help.

The team at Forever Current is constantly finding new ways to support you and your musical journey. We're writing books to help you create and share your music, designing online courses to provide even more in-depth advice, and offering our most sophisticated service, the Artist Development Program.

This program is an unparalleled experience. It's less expensive than a degree, takes a quarter of the time, and is (in my opinion) one of the most practical ways to start a career in music.

The program is built around you and your music. As you engage, you're building your portfolio, your network, and your knowledge of the industry. It's all about meeting your needs not only as a musician but also as a person.

Because of this level of detail, the program isn't for everyone. As you might expect, enrollment is limited. We can only consider applicants who are passionate about their craft and who are committed and invested in their personal growth.

That said, if you're serious about building a music career and becoming your best self, Forever Current's Artist Development Program is perfect for you.
